At Otio Academy, we believe that a strong, supportive community is vital for a positive learning experience. We are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all our students and their families.

Building Our Community

• Virtual & Real-World Connections: We facilitate monitored online student groups and virtual meetups. We also organize regular real-world trips to museums, zoos, and theme parks, which are open to all homeschool and online learners.
• Active Parent Network: Our parent community, overseen personally by founder Kwai Chi, connects through WhatsApp groups and regional meetups, providing a space for support and shared experiences.

Wellbeing & Inclusivity

• Emotional Support: We provide access to wellbeing resources and regular check-ins. We can also provide referrals to therapists or wellbeing coaches if needed.
• An Inclusive Environment: We are proud to be an inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ and diverse families. Our curriculum materials are diverse, and we empower families to choose set texts based on their own preferences and comfort levels.

Safeguarding & Online Safety

The safety of our students is our highest priority. We adhere to the highest UK safeguarding standards to create a secure online learning space.

• Locked-Down Browser: For younger learners, our unique Otio Browser only permits access to pre-approved educational websites and resources.
• UK Safeguarding Standards: We operate in line with the latest guidance from KCSIE (Keeping Children Safe in Education) and the Online Safety Bill.
• Rapid Response: We have rapid response protocols for any safeguarding incidents and provide easy-to-use reporting tools for parents.
